ವಿವರಣೆ:- ಸರ್.ಸಿ.ವಿ.ರಾಮನ್ ಅವರು 1928 ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 28 ರಂದು ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಚದುರುವಿಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 28ನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ 1987ರಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ದಿನವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
